SPAB Phillip Webb Award third place goes to Kate Nicholson

This annual award for recent graduates is given by The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, encourages and celebrates the sympathetic reuse of old buildings and sensitive new design in a historic context.

Kate's submission re-imagines part of the former Spode Works pottery in Stoke-on-Trent as a Storytelling Centre, developed through her final year Thesis Project. The judges enjoyed Kate’s creative approach to the site, and her use of the literacy, communication and storytelling thread to inform the next stage of its own story.
